Riboville...

First I don't write here often enough, now I'm here 3 or 4 times a day. Seems my fingers need a place to release some energy. I'm sure you all got these pictures from Jo, but thought I'd put them up on my blog anyway, so that anyone else can see how much fun we have together!

Thanks for a fabulous dinner club on Tuesday evening, I can't wait for our next one - Wendy, since you're our visiting guest from the UK and an honourery member whenever you're in town and since you're going to be here for our next dinner on 11 March, it's your turn to pick our next spot!

This week, we went to Riboville, which is situated in the center of Cape Town in an old bank. They've converted the old Vault down stairs into a wine cellar and do speciality dinners down there. The old Safety Deposit boxes house exclusive wines, both local and international. For those of you who know me (or were with me), you'll know how much I love wine (although I think I'm quite far from alcoholicism still) and I'd gladly have been locked up in there all night.

Most of us had sushi as our starters - it was delicious. I don't eat sushi as such, but love sashimi and their tuna and salmon were both delicious. For mains I had Norwegian Salmon, which was quite large in size and truely divine. For dessert, I had a wonderland of fruit, which included a rasberry sorbet served with a pineapple and orange syrup and a delicious curl of a biscuit and a baked apple tartlet on the side. It was an interesting combinations of flavours, but just what I felt like after the meal. The sorbet was to die for! By the end of the evening, I was stuffed and had more then my quota of wine, but then again, I wasn't driving (thanks Suzaan). It's always great getting out and trying new places, especially for me - I don't get taken on dates, unless I'm paying for myself and even then it's usually with my 3-year old and parents. It's fabulous spending time with just the girls and it's great for us all to just let our hair down and behave like, well, girls.

At the end of the evening, we were escourted around the vault with, Willie, by which stage I has a serious fit of the giggles and found his name extremely amusing - poor man. It was a hugely enjoyable evening and I'm really looking forward to our next one!

Lots of love,
