Our little Corky has turned 6! We got together to celebrate on the 28th (I know I've been SLOW - sorry!). I can't believe this little man is so grown up already - the time has flown and it feels like yesterday that he joined our family.
Corky has grown into a very, very bright, funny and deeply caring boy. He loves school and maths is a total treat for him - long may that last! He and Jake are getting on so well these days too, which make a huge change from a few years ago, when they would fight from the minute they got together, till the minute they parted. As the biggest cousin on our side of the family, Jake has grown to be very protective towards all his younger cousins - it's very sweet to see.
Corky's party was held at the Lifestyle Center in Jo and Paul's complex. They chose to have a Lego party for him this year - Corky is MAD about blocks and building and all his Lego stays built up on every free space in his room. Jake loves it. The party was different this year though. There were lots of kids and mommies that we didn't know. Corky's new friends, from his new big boy school...
Michael and Cameron were able to join too. Cam's still happy to get down and play with Jake and the littlies, Michael prefers to hang out with his dad. Jake was seriously bummed, because they were paired up into teams and Corky wouldn't pair up with Jake, because he was building with his friend Hannah. Luckily Cam was there to team up with Jake...
Rylee was there too - last year he was a little bundle and this year he's just about walking...
As usual, the party theme was bright and followed through to the snack table...
Cute "Lego" biscuits - where does Jo find the time??
I loved the buckets...
And the snack packs...
Lego sweeties...
Rylee is so quick now. He loves climbing and he's such a happy baby. He's talking quite a bit now and we've head him calling Jake quite often. I'm pretty sure I heard him try out Sue the other day...
Rylee also wanted to join in and play with the big kids...
Great teething rings, these block thingies...
Cam and Jake tried to join in as best they could, but you can see that they're starting to be a little self-conscious about behaving like kids...
Corky was in over-drive mode. Totally excited about everything...
Until the Lego man turned up. He told me in no uncertain terms that he did not like the Lego man...
Rylee was keen to say hello...
I think Corky just wanted to get away from there as quickly as he could...
Our little princess...
Jake and Cam building a tower... Jake came back from SOS the day before and it's only looking back on these pictures that I can see how sunburned he was! He looks happy though, that is, until I kicked their tower over...
I tried so hard to get just one photo of Corky, looking at me and smiling, but this was probably the best I got...
Or this fake smile/grimace face...
He was really happy to get his Lego prize though...
As was Jake...
Corky's cake...
And Jake getting in on the action...
One last snap of Jake and Corky - special boys...
I'm slowly starting to work through the masses of photos I've taken over the last few weeks, so I'll be back soon with more news.
Sending lots of love,
Sue XXX
