JAKE'S CAST IS FINALLY OFF!!!! YAYAYAYAYAY! I can finally get a decent hug from Jake, without getting whacked either in the face, or on the back of my head. I no longer need to sleep in fear of him hitting me in the face either (when he sleeps in my bed on the weekends, that is). And he's happier then I am about it.
Jake had his arm plastered at one of our government hospitals, The Victoria. It's an old military hospital in Wynberg, a little out of the way, but not too far. We spent the night at Joanne & Paul's and it was really nice to have some quality time with them, once the kids were in bed!! Having Jake's arm done at Victoria, meant that we didn't have to pay a cent for all the work done on him (including X-Rays), whereas it would've cost the best part of R2,000.00 at a private hospital. My aunt is a radiographer at Victoria, so we were fortunate in having a few doors opened early for us on both visits to the hospital. And we didn't have to sit in queues (last time someone was saying she'd been there for 7 hours, waiting!!) with the masses. I must be honest, it's quite an eye opener visiting a government hospital and I was pleasantly surprised. The people were friendly (those waiting too) and the hospital was clean and tidy. And, for the record, there were no people dying in the aisles either. We were out of the hospital by 7:30 this morning and sat in traffic for about an hour coming home, but that just meant we were a few minutes late for work and school... no sweat.
Anyway, I have a feeling that this week is going to be a happier one for us and I can't wait to get home to Jake for another cuddle this afternoon!! Oh, and next Tuesday is a public holiday and schools are closed on the Monday before. I've just had leave aproved for the Monday too, so this weekend coming will be a four day break for me!!! Looks like next week will be a good one too!
Lotsa love XXX
