Last week Tuesday, I came home to this:
Jake had gotten bored sometime during the day and was very proud of the work of art he'd created on the back of his bedroom door. From left to right it's a shark, a bird, a tree, a South African Flag and a jelly fish. All created with face paints (who in their right mind bought those for my 4 year old's birthday) and beautifully decorated with silver glitter glue. Sorry, not the greatest quality photo and I don't have time to do anything about it right now. Needless to say, bad mother that I am, I was pretty chuffed with his creation and I'm not in any rush to remove it from the door. Actually, I wish I could protect it and keep to show his own kids one day when they draw all over his walls. And, on the bright side, at least it wasn't poo that he was painting with. And he's just so darned proud of it...

I am grinning from ear to ear!
And I love that you are in no rush to remove it!

a little while ago I bought Dylan some ink and insect stamps. Silly me! I am finding ink everywhere ( walls and carpets) everywhere but the paper.
I think you are a great mom for appreciating your child's art, despite his choice of canvas! You should take a photo of it and get it enlarged and framed, that way you get to keep it forever. xxx
Caroline painted wonderful artwork all over the inside of her cupboard doors in Edgemead. And might I say, she was a lot older than Jake so she should have known better!
We sold the house, with her cupboard doors just left like that. I don't know what the new owners thought. They didn't think to open cupboards when they were viewing.
I hope they enjoyed them. They were very attractive and arty!
