Busy days...

We surprised Corky and Bi, by popping in for an early supper with them last night.  Bi was tired and grumpy and not too happy to see me, even when I told her that I wanted a photo for her mommy and daddy.  Until she remembered she had something new to show me.  Something pretty that her mommy bought for her...

She unpacked it all, chatting away while she showed me all her treasures...
This pretty, frilly hair thingy got a thumbs up...
After that, she warmed up a bit and was happy to show me all her beautiful things...
And bam!  Blankie gone and big smiles for Auntie Sue...
 Such a gorgeous girl...
Once she'd warmed up to the idea that these pictures were actually for her mommy and daddy, she was all smiles...
Corky had eyes only for the TV...
Even when I did manage to get him to smile, his eyes were still peeping at the TV...
Bi was full of hugs and giggles and Corky paid her almost no attention...
 Spongebob was on...
 And Jake was there...
When I did eventually get his attention, this is what he had to share... sorry Jo & Paul, I did try...
After a quick bite to eat, it was time for us to go.  Jake had done a ton of homework straight after school and had more to finish off when we got home...
Bi is adamant that she wants a hug and a kiss goodbye from Jake at the moment.  he's not that keen, but she waits so patiently...
He eventually gives in.  Who wouldn't...
On Monday evening, Jake made a little braai at home for my dad and I.  This boy still loves fire so much...

Hopefully he doesn't decide to become a firefighter, I couldn't deal with that.  He is fast becoming a braai master though and the steaks he cooked were perfect...
That brings you up to speed on our week so far.  Jake is getting so much work to do - he's got 2 projects that he's doing at school, but that he needed info for by today; he's got an Afrikaans test and mondeling (Afrikaans oral) this week and a spelling test on Monday.  Add that onto his usual homework and this kid is exhausted already.  Roll on September holidays!

Sending lots of love,
Sue XXX
