Just when...

It feels like yesterday that I was grumbling that the weekend was over and that Monday morning had arrived.  Now it's weekend again.  Already.  The week has flown by, but it feels so much less frantic without homework and sport on.  School closes up today for spring holidays.  It's a short one, just over a week, but some thing's better than nothing.  I've taken Monday off too, so I have a 4 day weekend ahead.  It's much needed.

Before this weekend hits me, these are the pictures from last weekend.  The weather was gloomy, pretty much like what we're expecting this coming weekend.  We had a games evening on at Cameron's school on Friday evening, so beat the traffic through to M's house early.  Jake had some time on the beach before we headed out...
He's always looking for something.  Mostly shark's teeth when he's on the beach, but also fossils.  Always fossils...
After lots of rain during the night and a bit of drizzle on Saturday morning, the sun came out for a bit and we were able to get the boys onto the beach for a bit - helps get rid of some extra energy!!  Plus, I got to show off red toe nails...
M did a few sprints with them.  They're all pretty fast, but Cam is definitely fastest...
Coming back Jake was far slower than Cam, but a little competition is good for these boys...
And then he faked an injury to get out of any more running...
 Hey sweet boy...
 Hey other sweet boy...
Michael was at a birthday party, so he dipped out on this trip.  On a previous trip, M and the boys built this cairn on the beach...
The decided to make it bigger.  Well, M did...
A strong, solid foundation and then lots of flat rocks to make it touch the sky...
Cam did his bit to help his dad find suitable rocks...
Jake too, but a little less enthusiastically...
In no time at all, the cairn was nearly as tall as M...
And it was way taller than the kids...
Busy boys gave me some time to wander around with my camera for company.  The sea was wild and stormy...
This other cairn was WAY smaller than "ours"...
Spring has brought out brightly coloured flowers on the dunes...
There's something about yellow flowers that just makes me feel happy... gorgeous...
 Looking back towards Table Mountain...
Back at the boys, the cairn's overtaken M and they're still going ...
 More pretty flowers...
 Looking back again...
Oh wow!  I am impressed, honey...
By the time I'd reached the beach again to get a better shot, the whole thing had come crashing down.  Fortunately no children were squished and I'm sure they'll be back to fix it up again this weekend...
We carried on up the beach to the dunes, always an exciting stop for the boys...
They scramble up the dunes and then jump back down...
Seagulls - always make me think of my friend Lee, who takes seagull photos on her holidays...
Cam was keen to have his picture taken for a change...
Toothy grin... he's far shier than Michael, but he's warming up to me nicely.  And he really enjoyed the peppermint crisp, caramel filled cupcakes.  I think he ate about 12 on his own...
A gorgeous sky and my gorgeous guy...
Jake and Cam making some dune discoveries...
Jake also had his school concert this week.  They did a grandparent's concert on Thursday morning and parents were invited to watch on Monday and Tuesday evening.  Just the foundation phase (grades 1 - 3) - it was very sweet and Jake has been very excited about it.  He wasn't impressed about having to wear make up though...
These are all the grade 3s doing.  They stood in class groups - Jake's class was center stage...
I love seeing them all together - I get so few chances.  And oh how I would love to be a fly on the wall in the classroom sometimes...
 Singing their hearts out...
The show went well on Thursday and the grandparents loved it.  Very sweet.

Last but not least, an updated picture of me and M...
There's too much happening at the moment, life is crazy busy, but it's all good things, so happy days!

Sending love, keep warm and cuddle lots, that's what I'll be doing!
