Puppy Power...

On Friday afternoon, Rosie and Gareth became the proud parents of little Hilux, their new boxer pup.  Rosie finished work early, so she could pick him up just after lunch time.  Jake has really missed the puppies and has been counting the weeks and days down until Hilux came to live with Rosie and Gareth.  The have grown so much since we last saw them at around 3 weeks old.

Rosie and Gareth initially wanted a little girl puppy.  Their friends were taking a boy and it would've been easier for them to spend time together if they had one of each sex.  Unfortunately though, they weren't my dogs though and there weren't enough girls to go around, so Rosie and Gareth got a boy too.  There were just 2 brown boxers, much cuter than the tan ones in my opinion, so one for each Rosanne and her friend.  Now that Hilux has arrived, it doesn't matter whether he's male or female (he will be neutered anyway), he's theirs and that's all that matters.  Like his mommy, he loves licking and is super affectionate...
Hilux is smart - he already knows who's going to be feeding him, walking him and picking up the poop...
Jake is convinced that Hilux still remembers him from when he was so tiny he couldn't stand on his own.  He does like Jake though.  More kisses...
He didn't like his new collar though...
Hang dog - those droopy eyes and ears look soooo sad...
 Loving a love...
I can fly... help me Nini...
 More lovies...
This is Speedy.  He's seriously fast and he bites seriously hard.  I hope Hilux learns his lesson faster than the cat did (the tortoise got lock jaw and nearly neutered the cat)...
This is little Tyson.  He was a surprise for Rosanne's friend Dominique.  Dom got Tyson as a surprise birthday present for her husband.  Tyson was very interested in the tortoise...
 Damned collar...
Jake was in heaven and I'm surprised that anyone else got a cuddle.  Tyson's the one without a collar, he's a whole 700g lighter than Hilux...
I'm gonna kiss you and love you and squeeze you and cuddle you and flap your lips and your ears...

Hilux...
Tyson...
Hilux knows that doesn't stand a chance, so he just gives in to Jake...
The new family...
Hi Mario.  That's Rosanne and Gareth's cat.  He stayed up on the neighbour's roof and watched the action from a safe distance...
After running around and playing a bit, it's time for an attempted nap.  Jake was just pretending...
And Tyson wasn't tired yet, he wanted to play some more with his brother...
Kisses for Jake...
Hello beautiful boys.  Jake, you need a haircut...
Twins...
Absolute, unconditional puppy love...
We all wanted a cuddle and a play, but Hilux was just to pooped...
Don't you just love that wrinkly face??  It's so soft and furry...
Mario slowly edged in a little closer, but wasn't brave enough to mingle just yet...
Tyson was doing everything in his power to stay awake, he so badly wanted Hilux to come and play with him, but got no response...
In his exhausted state, Hilux was passed around for us all to get a cuddle...
While Tyson chewed whatever he could find.  Dom's got trouble on her hands...
Gareth, sweet man that he is, bought Rosanne a charm for her Pandora bangle from him and Hilux.  It's a tiny little flat-faced doggie...
Jake and I popped in to visit again on Sunday morning.  Tyson was visiting again and they both seemed happier to have their collars on.  Is it just me, or do they look like they've grown a bit already?
I don't know how I'm going to keep this boy away from Hilux.  Rosanne and Gareth's house is almost across the road from school, so Jake took Hilux in to show his friends this morning.  Hilux is very good on the lead and walked the whole way home next to me...
Rosanne and Gareth's house is a bit of a building site at the moment and there's a bit (a lot) of sand lying around which is any puppy's dream...
Heehee sandy jowls...
Jake made a little bridge for the puppies to use to get from one side to the other.  Hilux did actually follow him, crossing over the bricks...
More wrinkles...
And lots of brotherly love...
Seriously, he is allowed to walk sometimes.  OK, when Jake's not visiting...
Mario's finally agreed to come inside, but steers clear when both puppies are there.  He is slowly warming to Hilux and there have been no hissing fits yet.  By the way, Jake wanted the puppy to be called Luigi.  Or Mo, after Mohamed Ali.  Hilux is the name of a bakkie and we have a really cool Hilux bakkie ad with a talking boxer who has human teeth and hangs his head out of the Hilux's window...
Help me!!  This is too cute...
When he gets to heavy to carry around, Jake just lies down with him.  Thank goodness Hilux is so cuddlesome...

Sometimes though, he is allowed to just sleep...
And then we all sit and watch him and his cute fuzzy nose...
So here's to many, many cuddle-filled, energetic, happy years to shared with a very special doggie.  Hilux, Luxie, welcome to the family.  We love you lots already!

Sorry I have been silent. Being reading. Busy busy busy at work :) I'll comment in reverse order (from newest to oldest) SORRY

The pups are so beautiful. Can't believe how much they have grown already. I couldn't even pick a fave picture from the lot. Jake is back to being in puppy heaven.

My pups also battled with their collar and I have a hilarious picture of Nero (the male puppy) fighting with the collar and eventually giving up. Now it's to train them to walk on a lead.

PS: I like the name :)

OPh gosh, these all have cute written all over them. I adore that first kiss of Hilux and Jake picture - it is stunning. And love the Hilux name - my hubby would too, he is a total Toyota Hilux fan
