Decisions, decisions...

I love mobile technology - I'm writing this from the comfort of my bed!

As you may or may not know, we attend church regularly. I'm not a preacher of any kind, but Sunday's service has been playing over and over in my mind ever since. And, as Danie's learning, I'm a thinker. Things go around and around in my head as I try to work them out and get my story straight. I guess that's the point, to get one thinking & trying to put one's life into perspective.

Basically we are all vain to a certain extant. Egotistical. We put our needs, our passions, ourselves ahead of everyone else. We are all guilty of wanting the best for ourselves and of putting other people's needs second to our own. It's human nature. It was quite amusing at some points when the minister affirmed a recent discussion Danie & I had. But, believe me, there were a fair number of smiles and nudges passed all around the church, I'm sure.

It's very difficult to put other people's needs and desires and passions ahead of our own. I try, often unsuccessfully to do this. I think the only area in my life where I am relatively successful, is in being a parent. By being solely responsible for someone else, for being somebody's mommy, well that means putting everything that has ever been important to me in a very firm second place. Jake's needs come ahead of all else and I would gladly give up my life for him. Perhaps its a fitting thought as the Easter season draws upon us...

Anyway, it's something I will be working on, something I need to work on and something I will be trying to be more conscious of, especially as we go into Easter. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone tried to be less selfish - a much calmer and happier place for everyone, don't you think?

Sweet dreams!

Sue, I think of anyone I blog with regularly, you are a beacon of selflessness. Have you not forgotten that you invited strangers into your home when stranded at the airport!..

..that beats me hands down. I love the sentiment, and I agree, if we all just tried that little bit harder the world would be a much much nicer place

Big hugs xx
