I have been feeling sick (and teary) all morning, over having to take my beautiful princess in to the vet. She went in to get her teeth cleaned, but I requested that they also check a few lumps that have formed. There are quite a few. I've just spoken to the vet and she's got 3 different types of lumps. The first two types are cysts and fatty deposits, the third she said are angry pigment changing cells. She's taken a biopsy that she's sending off to the pathologists today to see whether these growths are cancerous or not. From there I have to decide what to do. If they're isolated, they can operate to remove the growths, but if it's terminal, I guess I'll have to keep her comfortable until we can't any more.
I know she's just a dog, but she's my special girl, please keep Amber in your thoughts (and me cos now I'm crying at work again...)

Oh, my dear girl. I understand what you are going through. They are so special. these canine friends of ours, aren't they?
Be strong Suzy. They depend on us these animal friends. They do. I feel for you. Just remember. Do what is good for her, not for you! Thinking of you with love!
She's NOT just a dog, she's a part of your family and you have every right to feel grief, and worry, and everything else you are feeling.
We recently suffered through something like this, I really feel for you, it's terrible.
The crying at work thing, ugg, still I think it shows you're human, not stone.
Oh Sue, I am so sorry you and Amber are going through this. Morgan's correct, they are at the center of our families and so very precious. I'll be hoping for the best news possible.
I know you will find the right balance and trust yourself to make all the right decisions. If Amber is comfortable, content and enjoying all of you, then you have time to treasure her.
Hugs...

oh susie. both you and I know dogs and cats and any pets are part of our family. I hope its not bad news and that you can keep her as comfortable as possible

Hey Sue, I know the feeling. I took Phoebe, our Golden Retriever, to the doggy parlour two weeks ago to get shaved and I spotted a lump on her chest - They removed it and sent it to the lab and unfortunately it was malignant - which is not good news, fingers crossed they got it all out. But not nice!!Ja, then all my brothers stuff happened, so not a good week...anyway, I guess we should be grateful for all the blessings we DO have in our lives. Take care xxx
THANK YOU everyone for your kind thoughts and words. See today's post for an update!
